Historical Event on 9/9/1812
The first paper currency was issued by the Bank of Bengal. The notes of this bank were later printed by Perkins, Heath & Co. in England. They can be distinguished into at least 10 different types. They were issued in a wide range of denominations from Rs. 10 to Rs. 1000.

8/6/1951	Rukmini Lakshmipathi, great social reformer and leader, died.
12/25/1997	India-Sri Lanka one-day cricket match at Indore abandoned after three overs owing to a bad state of the pitch, which was a rare occurance.
10/30/1990	Several people died and many injured as security forces opened fire at a crowd marching towards Ram Janmabhumi/Babari Masjid to perform 'karseva'.
