Historical Event on 5/25/1965

Independent India had further clashes with Pakistan in 1965 and 1971, one over the intractable Kashmir dispute and the other over Bangladesh. A border war was also fought with China in 1962 in the North-Eastern region, which resulted in the loss of Aksai Chin in Ladakh and smaller areas in the North-east. India continues to dispute sovereignty over these areas.

Meanwhile Indian Army continues to attack the Tiger Hill area and captures two positions in close proximity to Jubar features. The Election Commission says that Lok Sabha polls will be held as per schedule.
10/31/1997Autonomous Prasar Bharati with enough muscle to get Government off its back is promised by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Jaipal Reddy, while announcing changes to Prasar Bharati Act in New Delhi.
