Bhubaneswar, July 7 (IANS) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday directed officials to include coronavirus management under the 'Mo Sarkar programme to get feedback from the patients and the frontline workers.
The Chief Minister reviewed Covid-19 management in the state on Tuesday. He directed officials to take feedback from the patients admitted to the Covid Care Centres, as well as the Covid warriors through regular communication.
The Chief Minister suggested providing health updates of the patients to their families.
He also emphasised on training Covid warriors on how to protect themselves from the virus, since they are at maximum risk of contracting the infection.
The Chief Minister suggested that online entry facility should be ensured for monitoring Covid Care Homes established at different locations of the state as well as streamlining the ambulance service in different exclusive Covid hospitals.
As many as 47,613 Covid Care Committees have been formed at the gram panchayat level and training for the members has been completed, said an official.
Similarly, 5,480 Covid Homes with total capacity of 49,218 beds have been readied. Besides, 1,105 temporary health centre clusters with 37,998 beds have also been arranged for the containment of Covid-19.
A total of 2,035 Covid Care Committees have been formed in 114 urban areas and Covid Homes with 5,956 beds. As many as 818 Temporary Medical Centres with capacity of 58,988 beds are functioning in the urban areas.
As of now, Covid-19 testing facilities are available in 19 laboratories across the state and the authorities are planning to start testing in Puri, Angul, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi and Keonjhar in the coming days.
Serological testing has already been started in Puri, Bhubaneswar and Ganjam, while additional kits have been procured for antigen test in Ganjam.
The Chief Minister directed the Police DG to adopt zero tolerance principle against violation of Covid-19 protocols like not wearing masks or flouting social distancing measures.
